Interlibrary loan permits one library to borrow and issue to its patrons
material owned by another library. Interlibrary loan may be used whenever
requested material is not available within the St. Louis County Library
System. It is available for all patrons holding a valid ADULT RESIDENT
card in good standing (i.e., owing no more than $5.00 in outstanding
overdue fines or having no more than five books overdue for more than one
week.) Homebound, high school and juvenile patrons are not eligible.
Adult patrons may have five (5) requests for returnable items and/or five (5)
requests for copies or microfilm pending at one time. Patrons will be
notified when items are available at the branch.
A lending fee up to $5.00 per item will be added to the patron's record. The
overdue
fine for Interlibrary Loan material
is $1.00 per day.
Not all materials are available through Interlibrary Loan. The owning
library determines which items it will lend and the length of the loan
period.
The owning library also sets the value of the item if lost or damaged
which may be several hundred dollars.
